LOCATION :-
The road to the lake traverses the mountains of the Kaghan ValleySaiful Muluk is located in the Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) north of Naran, in the northern part of Kaghan Valley. Malika Parbat, the highest peak in the valley is near the lake.The lake is accessible from the nearby town of Naran during the summer season but access during winter is limited.
SHAPE OF THE LAKE :-
The shape of the lake is like a bowl and its water gives an awesome effect of blue color. Water supply to this lake is from melting glaciers. The Malka Parbat peak is in the east of this lake, forming a mirror image in lake. Boating facility is also available.
WHY THIS LAKE IS VERY FAMOUS ?
This lake is famous for its majestically surrounded mountains covered with snow and provides a magical view of Malka Parbat Mountains. The lake contains unbelievably crystal clear blue, green water that mesmerizes the beauty and attracts tourist. It is 10000 feet above the sea level, highest alpine Lake of Pakistan.  Lake has a bowl shape and contains multiple glaciers, the variety of plants. Lake gets covered with snow because of heavy snowfall in winters. Weather is extremely pleasant and divine; boating facility also fascinates tourists. One of the astonishing facts of the lake is that many foreigners have tried to measure the length of the lake but it is still unknown .
WEATHER :-
The weather of this lake is uncertain. No one knows when the sun will hide behind the clouds and it starts raining. When it rains the weather becomes too cold that there is a need of warm clothes. The color the lake also varies with weather. Due to sun rays, water of the lake shows different beautiful and eye-catching shades. In winter the whole lake is covered with snow.

Lake Saif-ul-Malook – ranked by The Guardian as the fifth best tourist destination in Pakistan – seems like heaven on earth for tourism. The greenish-blue crystal clear and freezing water, surrounded by giant glaciers, including Malika Parbat, reflects the beauty of Saif-ul-Malook.Saiful Muluk lake is located near a village known as Naran. It is one of the highest lakes in Pakistan. It is 10,580 feet high and its surface area is about 3.60km. The lake has rich eco-diversity and holds many species of blue-green algae. Large brown trout are found in the lake, up to about seven kilograms.About 26 species of vascular plant exist in the area, with Asteraceae the most commonly found species. Other species commonly found in the region are: Ranunculaceae, Compositae, Cruciferae, Gramineae, Apiaceae, Leguminosae, Scrophulariaceae and Polygonaceae.Beautiful view, many other activities like horse riding can rent a horse on hourly basis and go to the view point, boating is awesome experience, sight seeing is beautiful.On the north east side of Mansehra district in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, there is a Valley known as Kaghan Valley.
PHYSICAL FEATURES :-
Saiful Muluk lake ranked among the top lakes of Pakistan for tourism. It is the best place for Tourism.Saiful Muluk was formed by glacial moraines that blocked the water of the stream passing through the valley. The Kaghan Valley was formed in the greater Pleistocene Period dating back almost 300,000 years when the area was covered with ice. Rising temperatures and receding glaciers left a large depression where glaciers once stood.
WHY THIS LAKE IS CALLED SAIFUL MULUK?
The reason this lake is called Saif-ul-Malook is because the prince's name was Saif and Mulook means the place where the prince and the fairy met.The Lake Saiful Muluk is named after a legendary prince. A fairy tale called Saif-ul-Muluk, written by the Sufi poet Mian Muhammad Bakhsh, talks of the lake.It tells the story of the prince of Persia named Prince Saiful Malook who fell in love with a fairy princess named Princess Badri-ul-Jamala at the lake.

The lake with its majestic and mesmerizing natural beauty, pleasant atmosphere and associated tale and history, attracts thousands of tourists each year from all around the country during the summer.The lake is also famous for being habitat of large size Brown Trout fish, which weigh up to 7 kilograms. Lake Saif ul Malook also provides a marvelous view of Malika Parbat, which is the highest peak of Kaghan Valley.The best time to visit Lake Saif ul Malook is between May and the end July. It remains covered in snow during winter, and the road to the lake stays closed due to heavy snow fall.
